Our project entails the solution of smart traffic lights to mitigate traffic congestion. We solve global SDG issues 11, 9, 3, 13, 8, and indirectly solve 16 and 10. By implementing this solution, not only do we lessen risks of traffic accidents and crashes, but we help the environment around us by stabilizing greenhouse gasses and emissions into the atmosphere, help people reach their destinations faster with efficiency, and help pedestrians walk across crosswalks and sidewalks with greater ease. Although smart traffic lights already exist in some developed parts of the world in countries such as the United States with some states using smart traffic lights, on a global scale, our solution would definitely be innovative, intelligent, and modern enough to capture the world by storm. Our simulation offers users a playful and fun way to get to interact with traffic and smart traffic lights with a colorful and appealing UI. By creating this simulation, we hope users will learn and understand how manually controlling the traffic lights can mitigate traffic congestion but also through how our smart AI prevents accidents and crashes in the simulation.
