VeteranConnect | USA
VetConnect is a mobile app built to bridge the gap between veteran-owned businesses and the communities that genuinely want to support them. We give veterans a platform to register and showcase what they’ve built, while everyday consumers (both veterans and civilians) can discover and engage these businesses in ways that actually matter and for services and products they are seeking anyways.
VetConnect is designed around interactivity and user engagement. Users explore an interactive map that updates in real-time, making it easy to spot veteran-owned or affiliated businesses nearby. Our AI-powered search understands what users are actually looking for and suggests businesses based on preferences, location, and past interactions. Users are not just passively scrolling, they are actively exploring and connecting with the veteran business community.
But this app has a deeper impact rooted in civics and patriotism. VetConnect connects veterans to veterans, helping build their own supportive community. It connects civilians to veterans, fostering a sense of patriotism and purpose through everyday decisions like where to grab coffee or who to hire for a home repair. That is real, grassroots community building.
The inspiration came from volunteering at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital, where many veterans face mobility challenges and struggle to reintegrate into civilian life. Meanwhile, veteran-owned businesses fight for visibility despite 81% of Americans expressing a desire to support them. That disconnect is what we are tackling.
VetConnect creates a centralized, engaging platform that strengthens community bonds, empowers veteran entrepreneurs economically, and turns good intentions into meaningful action.
